Birkdale is currently managing the internal landscaping of four 5-star hotels within the Venetian Resort complex on the Cotai Strip.
There will be interior themed gardens which are to be changed seasonally – Christmas, Easter, Chinese New Year and special occasions.

Birkdale constructed a 6,500 metre square x 12 metre high shadehouse specifically to acclimatise trees and palms for indoor decoration. 213 trees and palms, many of them up to 10 metres in height, were imported from Australia, Thailand and Malaysia.

In 2007, supplied and installed a 36-hole mini artificial golf course on the podium of the Venetian Casino Resort using artificial turf imported from New Zealand. The golf course features extensive landscaped areas, tees, fairways/rough, greens, water features and sand bunkers.

The City of Dreams development comprises their Casino/ Hotel complex, the Hard Rock Hotel, a Crown Hotel and two Hyatt Hotels on the Cotai Strip. Birkdale is currently undertaking the external soft landscaping on the Level 1 perimeter and a level 3 podium deck where the pools for the hotels are located.

Birkdale supplied 20,000 cubic metres of topsoil to fill the landscape planters. This soil was mixed off-site in China and then transported to site for installation.

A total of 766 advanced trees, 279 advanced palms, 211,868 shrubs, and 4,900 square metres of turf have been supplied. Half the trees, palms and shrubs are on the level 3 podium with the remainder planted around the perimeter and highlighting the entrances.

Zhuhai Birkdale Nursery sourced all the plant material, with the trees and palms for the project being imported from Egypt, Australia, Malaysia and Thailand. All shrubs were procured locally in China.
